Jeff Atchison
Senior Pastor
About Jeff
Jeff & Geneva Atchison joined the MLCC family in March 2025. Jeff was a long-time pastor in the Calvary Chapel movement and is passionate for "through-the-Bible" preaching and teaching.
Jeff loves to recharge by worshiping God in music, tinkering with various instruments (guitars, cello, banjo, keyboards), backpacking, playing board games, and napping.
Jeff and Geneva have three amazing young adult kids who are launching out into the big world, but will hopefully be visiting often at beautiful Lake Almanor.
They also have two "below–average" dogs. The less said about them the better.

Jill Theriault
Women's Ministry
About Jill
Jill and her husband Curt both grew up in Michigan and moved their family to northern California in 2013. Jill worked in the travel industry for over 25 years and is now a certified Christian Life Coach.
After the death of their son Nathan, Jill volunteered for a non-profit organization called Bereaved Parents of the USA where she held various positions in Michigan and was the Chapter Leader. When her family moved to the Lake Almanor basin area, she felt led to start another chapter and is currently on the National Board assisting with new chapter startups. God has always been front and center in her life, which has strengthened her and helped her find glimpses of hope on her arduous grief journey. Isaiah 41:10 is the verse that became her lifeline during those early years and still encourages her today!
As a Christian Life Coach, Jill's passion is to help women find P.E.A.C.E. (Purpose, Encouragement, Acceptance, Clarity, Endurance) on their spiritual walk with the Lord. She is also passionate about supporting and encouraging those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Her years of sending encouraging emails to family and friends led her to create a blog called: On God's Time where she shares her love of Christ and His Word in her uplifting messages.
Jill enjoys experiencing God's beautiful creation through her travels and photography. She also enjoys leading Women's Bible study and planning various events such as outings, seminars, retreats for women in Mt Lassen Community Church as well as for our local and surrounding communities by working with other local churches.

MLCC Elders

Curt Theriault
Elder / MLT Operations manager
About Curt
Curt was born many years ago and raised in a small town in rural Michigan. He attended a Catholic elementary school and attended the local Catholic Church with his family. Shortly after graduating from Bay City Western High School Curt started working for a large chemical company, eventually working his way into Research and Development and managerial positions in the Research Laboratories. He was offered a position in California in 2013 and he and his family moved west. After 33 years Curt retired from the Chemical industry.
Curt met his eventual wife Jill at a mutual friend's wedding. After a couple years they had a wedding of their own on the shores of a Maui beach. They have had 3 sons, Nicholas who currently resides in Reno, Nathan who unexpectedly passed away from Mengitious just after his 2nd birthday and Adam who currently resides with them at Lake Almanor. In 2023 Jill and Curt celebrated their 30th anniversary on that same Maui beach with their sons.
Curt first taste of serving in the Ministry was joining the St. Peter Lutheran School Christian Board of Education where his kids were attending elementary school. He served as the Chairman of the School Board which also included serving on the Church Council. After the Theriaults moved to California and started attending Benicia Lutheran Church, Curt was asked to join their Church Council and eventually served as the President for the Benicia Lutheran Church Council. Shortly after moving to Lake Almanor, Curt was invited to join the Mt Lassen Community Church Elder Board by Pastor Todd DuBord and Elder Board Chair Dave LeGroue.
Curt has been incredibly blessed by God and wishes to serve God for the rest of his life. Besides serving in the Ministry Curt enjoys outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and getting to the peaks of God's awesome creations. Psalm 23 are Curt's go to verses and in those 6 verses he finds comfort no matter what is going on around him. A favorite form of worship is attending Christian concerts with Jill and their friends. Curt is truly amazed as he watches God work in his life and at Mt Lassen Community Church and Mt Lassen Theatre and he feels incredibly blessed and humbled to be a part of both.
