When we Meet

Sunday Mornings

What To Expect

We share in a simple church service—

Church in a Theatre
Though we meet in a unique building with a lot of history in Chester—a theatre built in the 1940s—what truly makes MLCC unique is the warmth of our fellowship and friendships.

We hope when you visit you’ll immediately feel the warmth of a family who genuinely love each other and our guests. We each have a story of how God grabbed ahold of us and turned us around—and as broken people who have been restored by God’s grace, we have a lot of joy to share. So, please don’t be offended if a bunch of folks want to shake your hand, give you a hug, or learn your name.
What to Wear
Don’t stress out about what to wear. We tend to be mountain–type folks who prefer denim and flannel—so come as you are most comfortable.
First Things First - Coffee!
Expect to be greeted in our lobby or at the door. Grab your coffee or special drink to help keep your hands warm.

Our special drinks have a suggested donation, and the proceeds are given to local youth athletes to provide scholarships for their sports programs.
Music
Our music team will lead us in song and prayer, bringing our hearts to God. Our musical style is varied—but has one common trait: we sing as a genuine offering of praise to God. We believe worship is for God, not for us!
Announcements & Kids' Classes
We’ll share the church family business of announcements and updates.

We dismiss the kids at this point to go to class, with their excellent teachers, to our kids' building in the back. Safety is of first importance—if you'd like, ask one of our greeters to show you the classroom, for peace of mind!

On the “5th Sunday of the month,” we keep the kids in church so families can worship and grow together.
Bible Teaching
A pastor or elder will share a teaching (sermon) of about 40–45 minutes, typically working through a passage of scripture verse–by–verse. We are a “through the Bible” type church—believing the whole Bible is valuable for believers (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

We’ll close with worship and an invitation to respond to the teaching. We’ll dismiss you in plenty of time to get an early start to lunch—our services typically run about an hour and 15 minutes.
After Church
This is the best part: grab a friend and go eat. Make sure you bring your “Sermon Discussion Guide” and share with each other what you learned.
